Welcome to the Auckland Primary Principals’ Association – the APPA. We have been the collective voice for primary and intermediate school principals in the greater Auckland region – from Mercer in the south to Warkworth in the north – for close to 120 years. We warmly invite you to join our Association if you are not already a member.

The APPA is a strong professional organisation that has a history of service, advocacy and representation of principals’ interests in addressing the needs of primary and intermediate school education in New Zealand. In particular, being the largest local principals’ association in New Zealand, we are a strong lobby and support group that has influence at both the local and national levels.

The APPA is represented on many groups including the New Zealand Principals’ Federation, the NZEI, as well as on many Ministerial Advisory and Working Groups. All local principal Cluster groups are also represented on the APPA Council, providing meaningful and direct communication, feedback and exchange of information at a local level.

There are many other benefits to becoming a member of the APPA – professional support, networking social events, and opportunities for children. The Association is also proactive and responsive about organising meetings and events that meet members’ immediate needs.
